Purpose

Have you ever experienced a time when a simple thought formed in your mind, and then it continues to linger as the hours go by, not diminishing but growing stronger, deeper… Well, today is one of those nights… Resulting in me being wide awake at 4am in the morning.

What is the meaning to my existence on this earth? What on earth am i here for?

One thing for sure, I am very certain of my eternal destination. I know and believe that if the next second I breath my last, I will arrive at a very beautiful and wonderful place. However, the nagging question tonight isn’t about eternity… It is about the abundance of life here on earth.

I’m 21 years old this year. I have around 50-70 more years right here. In view of eternity, this period of time is extremely brief. This life here on earth is like the visible tip of the iceberg. And this time is so important. Everything we do on this earth will have its repercussions. It is not the end, it is a preparation, into all that God has ready for us when we meet Him face to face.

Pst Lia mentioned: “If I have one life to live, I will give my life to the most important thing in life.”

Personally to me, it is to bring others to know the love of Christ. Evangelism has always been a fire burning in my heart from a very young age. It is a burden, a revelation. I never want this fire to ever be snuffed out, NEVER, for the rest of my life.

Then I ask myself: “What makes me come alive?” And the first thought is: Little children. These past 6 months of serving in pre-school ministry has been one of the happiest moments I’ve had serving God. I can’t begin to explain how much I love children… I bet there must be a sparkle in my eye whenever I’m around them, or even at the mention of them.

Time, Talent, Treasure. What I have, I give to You. I really do not have much… If someone were to ask me what’s my gifting, I would probably not know how to answer (except for the above two that I mentioned which means the most to me, I do not know) I am really not proficient in anything. In fact, I’m probably the most ordinary girl you can ever find.

But something is burning in my heart…. I want to live BIGGER, LARGER, HIGHER, GREATER. I want to life in accordance with the reason why I am right here on this earth! I am created for a reason. There is a purpose to my life. There is a plan that I can walk in. There is meaning for me to be living - and it is not just existing! I want to LIVE. Contented but not satisfied. I want to do more, I want to discover and live out God’s purposes.

Whatever it is - only the Author knows. I am afraid, unknowing, perplexed… but also excited! What a funny feeling…. I’m on a little mission to find out… Day after day. And you never know, today might just be one of those events propelling me in the direction of my destiny. In the meantime, I’ll keep asking.. seeking.. finding…

At the end of the day, it is not about me. It is about You, and everything is for You. Reveal to me Your plans, God… More of You, knowing You.

Get ready world, for my God is roaring like a lion on the inside!

All that is not eternal is eternally useless.
